Construction Project Manager/Estimator Prep Job Duties

Construction Project Managers work in a managerial role for a company, hiring and delegating tasks to subcontractors to work on certain construction projects. They work with clients to understand their construction goals and needs, then build a schedule for their crew/subs to follow. Construction Project Managers oversee the entire construction process and ensure everything runs smoothly for the project to be successful.

To support this, some of their responsibilities include taking inventory of the workers’ equipment and tools, updating clients and stakeholders on the construction status, conducting regular site checks to review the workers’ progress and ensure they’re following proper safety standards. The project manager will help with permit processing for each project, along with making sure the proper insurance requirements are met. 


 The estimator portion of the position will include meeting new leads, getting all the necessary details to provide a complete estimate to the lead. Getting materials and bid estimates and calculating in-house labor costs to provide a cost estimate to the lead.

The estimator's role is to make sure he accounts for everything required for the project, including items the leads might not know about or potentially see.

Project Management

  • Client Communication

    • Pre-construction Meeting

    • Final Close out Meeting

    • Scheduling


  • Develop Bid Packages

    • Review Contract and Set Scope of work for each trade in a Formal Document for Miguel to make sure he includes all scope of work front the contract

    • Electrical, plumbing, stucco, concrete, framing, demo, Tile, flooring Etc. 





  • Walk Through

    • Rough Inspections to make sure everything is set to Spec/Plans

    • Final W/ Client

    • Tracking Time and Materials Per Project Basis

    • Approve Bids

    • Approve Large Material Orders

    • Finish Materials sourcing/Delivering 


  • Approve/ Release Change Orders

  • Tool Talk (Safety talk Scheduling)Schedule 

  • Invoicing Finished Scopes  

    • Partial Estimating Prep


  • Making Sure Subs are paid and work is completed 

  • Warranty Request/ Claims

  • RFIs For plans when reviewing 

  • Receipt/Cost Tracking for all projects.
