New Design Project Orientation
Responsibility:
The Lead Designer and Drafter/Design Coordinator are responsible for ensuring a smooth orientation and understanding of the new design project.
The Lead Designer oversees the project review and initial client outreach.
Timing:
The orientation should be conducted as soon as a new design project is assigned to a drafter/design coordinator.
Procedures
Cover Project Overview with Lead Designer:
Use the Lead Designer Project Review Form (Integrated with BuilderTrend).

Review Client Info and Scope of Work on BuilderTrend:
Select Job from Job List:
Navigate to the job list in BuilderTrend.
Select ‘i’ (Information Icon) to View Job Details:
Click on the information icon to access detailed job information.
Select the Job Tab and Scroll Down to Internal Notes for Project Overview:
Review the internal notes section for a comprehensive project overview.
Select the Owner Tab to Access Owner Information:
Access and review owner information to understand client details.
Initiate Client Outreach:
Introduction of Who You Are:
Introduce yourself to the client, explaining your role in the project.
What We Will Be Measuring and the Data We Will Need to Get:
Inform the client about the specific measurements and data required for the project.
Areas to Clear or Allow Access to Measure:
Request the client to clear specific areas or allow access for measurement.
Date and Time of Appointment:
Schedule the date and time for the site visit appointment.
Provide Follow-Up on the Day of the Appointment:
Follow up with the client at least one hour prior to the site visit to confirm the appointment.
