Post-Drywall Installation Verification Checklist
Responsibility:
The Superintendent is responsible for conducting and documenting the post-drywall inspection.
The Superintendent will coordinate with relevant tradespeople to address any deficiencies.
Objective:
To ensure all installations (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety systems, and communication/data) are accessible and compliant after drywall installation before proceeding with finishing work.
Timing:
The post-drywall inspection should be conducted immediately after drywall installation and before any finishing work begins.
Procedure:
Preparation:
Ensure all relevant plans, permits, and checklists are available on site.
Inspection Checklist:

Outlets:
Ensure no outlets are covered by drywall.
Verify all outlet boxes are exposed and accessible.
Switches:
Check that all switch boxes are visible and can be accessed easily.
Confirm no switches have been obscured by drywall.
Light Fixtures:
Verify openings for all light fixtures are correctly cut out and accessible.
Ensure no wiring intended for fixtures is covered.
Plumbing Installations:
Access Panels:
Confirm that all required access panels for plumbing (e.g., shut-off valves) are not covered.
Verify clear access to all plumbing connections.
Fixture Mounts:
Ensure mounts for sinks, toilets, and other fixtures are correctly exposed.
HVAC Installations:
Vents and Duct Access:
Check that all HVAC vents are unobstructed and properly cut out.
Ensure access points for any ductwork adjustments are not covered.

Look for signs of bulging or improper installation around areas where installations are present behind the drywall.
Follow-Up:
Mark any areas needing adjustments or corrections clearly.
Communicate these areas to the drywall team for resolution before proceeding with finishing work.
Conduct a re-inspection if necessary to verify corrections.
Final Preparation:
Ensure the site is clean and organized for the next phase of construction.
Review the checklist and ensure all points are satisfactorily addressed.
